If you\u2019re new to diving you\u2019re likely to hear unfamiliar terms and phrases. Don\u2019t panic! You\u2019ll soon learn them all. But for the absolute beginner here\u2019s our basic SCUBA diving dictionary to help you get started.<\/p>

  1. SCUBA: Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, which refers to the equipment used by divers to breathe underwater.<\/p>

  2. Regulator: The device that attaches to the cylinder and delivers air to the diver through a mouthpiece.<\/p>

    <\/p><\/li>

  3. Buoyancy Control Device (BCD): The vest worn by divers to control their buoyancy underwater.<\/p>

  4. Dive Computer: A device that measures depth, time, and nitrogen absorption to calculate a safe ascent profile.<\/p>
